The Virtual Infrastructure team at Fraser Health is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and managing virtual desktop infrastructure, and related systems. As a VDI Engineer, you will ensure the smooth functioning of our organization's virtual desktop platform, collaborating closely with developers, architects, and system administrators to design, implement, and maintain virtual desktop solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, deploy, and manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions using technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix, and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Provide expert support and administration for virtual desktop environments, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and implement optimal VDI solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual desktop environments and associated infrastructure
- Develop and maintain documentation for VDI use cases, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Utilize your excellent communication skills to convey technical messages to audiences of diverse backgrounds
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in virtual desktop technologies to continuously improve our VDI solutions
- Leading and coordinating operational projects

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Networking, or Telecommunications; Bachelor’s of Science with a technology focus; or 5 years of related work experience
- Experience with Virtual Desktop environments (AVD, Citrix, RDS etc )
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud technologies
- Experience leading, coordinating or managing projects
- Meeting facilitation and presentation experience
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc )

**An asset to this role would be**:

- Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, or cloud certifications
- Desktop or thin client management experience
- Application packaging and deployment experience
- Group policy management experience (Intune or GPMC)
- ServiceNow knowledge
- ITIL or PMP certification
