PLEASE NOTE:
We are located in **STONY PLAIN ALBERTA**. You **MUST** have transportation to get out to work as we do not have bus systems that comes to our town. Please note; we are on average 20-35 minutes drive from Edmonton (depending on your location in Edmonton).

This position is a front-line support level position. This position is considered casual with the ability to pick up shifts from out shift pool. Shifts are made up of day time, evening, awake overnights, weekends and weekdays. **WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR WEEKEND DAY TIME SHIFTS THAT VARRY FROM 8:00AM-8:00PM AND 8:00AM-5:00PM**

**We are currently seeking**:
**Casual Staff Members** who have the flexibility to work day time, evenings, awake overnights, sleep overnights, weekends and weekdays. Please note, as a Casual Employee you may work up to full time hours based on your personal availability.

**Therapeutic Program Planning and Delivery**
- Ongoing program planning as it pertains to the Individual, Family and Service Team goals
- Residential Programming: conduct interactive activities that support the personal development of the individuals we support;
- Educational and Life-Skills Building: guide various areas of learning for individuals we support;
- Community and Recreational Programming: participate in swimming and other activities;
Personal Care: providing meals, supporting individuals with hygiene, supporting individuals with personal care, household duties (laundry and cleaning).

**Demonstrate Professionalism and Ethical Boundaries**
- Assist, support, encourage basic living, social skills, academic skills, home living through modelling actions and behaviours that honour the capacity and boundaries of all home residents
- Assist and support individuals to build and maintain relationships through meaningful participation and inclusion. Including but not limited to: employment, volunteer, recreational, and other social settings
- Work will multiple supported individuals and their families, as well as their staffing teams - with and without direct supervisions
- Adhere to Agency policies, procedures and commit to values and philosophies of Intertidal
- Strong communication skills that are professional and respectful with individuals and their families we support, staff, and community representatives
- Participate in ongoing learning to improve our agency’s best practices;
- Work with Social Solutions, our electronic database or possess computer skills
- Highly skilled working with high behaviours
- Awareness of individual’s behaviours and multiple environments and take action if an incident occurs
- Attentive and proactive to potential verbal, physical violence in the workplace as challenging behaviours (physical & verbal aggression, threats and property damage and social inappropriate comments) occur on a daily basis;
- Knowledge of basic health and safety regulations and guidelines for health and safety of Intertidal
- Work with multiple persons served, as well as, with staffing teams - with and without direct supervision;
- Use de-escalation techniques to deal with challenging behaviours on a daily basis;
- Experience with FASD, ADHD, developmental delays, epilepsy, PTSD

Skilled and experienced in working with youth with mental health and behavioural complexities

**Express Positive Role Modelling**
- Assist, support, encourage basic living, social skills, academic skills, home living through modelling desired actions and behaviours;
Assist and support individuals to build and maintain relationships through meaningful participation and inclusion. Including but not limited to: employment, volunteer, recreational, and other social settings

**Departmental Reporting**

Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reporting as mandated

**Working Conditions**

Physical/Environmental
- Work involves sitting and standing for long hours
- Work space may involve client behaviours that have resulted in property damage or physical/environmental harm

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team of multi-disciplinary paraprofessionals
- Great attention to detail, analytical insight and highly organized
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation and conflict mediation skills
- Experience working with or knowledge of, Indigenous communities and cultures as well as Black and other individuals of colour is considered an asset
- Knowledge, passion/interest and or experience working with Individuals (children, youth and adolescents) with complex needs, mental health challenges and diagnosis and vulnerable and diverse populations of all ages
- Strong experience working with an anti-racist anti-oppression lens and systems thinking that consistently prioritizes accessibility and safety of all persons

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school or equivalent is required;
- Post-secondary Diploma or Degree is ideal but not mandatory;
