**Reports to**:CAMAL Facilities Maintenance Manager
**Compensation**:$20.00 hour, 4% holiday pay.
**Hours of work**:Full-time, temporary (seasonal), 35 hours week.
**Fort Steele Heritage Town** is a living history site dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and enhancement of British Columbia’s rich heritage. Fort Steele serves as a cultural and educational resource, engaging visitors in the stories, traditions, and historical significance of the Region. The Site is supported by the Cranbrook Archives, Museum and Landmark Society and its Executive Management Team which provides strategic direction, development and funding to achieve the site’s mandate. **About the Job**
The Maintenance Worker assists with the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of Fort Steele Heritage Town's buildings and grounds. This role ensures the site remains safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing for visitors and staff, while also preserving its historical integrity.

**What You’ll Do**
As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll play a key role in keeping Fort Steele Heritage Town safe, functional, and beautiful for visitors and staff. Your days will be filled with:
- Tackling hands-on projects like carpentry, painting, and more.
- Mowing lawns, weeding and maintaining the beautiful landscaping across the site.
- Keeping our historical buildings in tip-top shape through preventative maintenance.
- Responding quickly to maintenance requests to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborating with our passionate team to develop new features for the site.
- Preserving the historical integrity of a place that matters to so many.
**What We’re Looking For**
We need someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and bring energy, creativity, and reliability to the table Here’s what will make you a great fit:
Experience: Some experience in facilities maintenance, landscaping or construction (bonus points if you’ve worked with heritage sites).
Skills: Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) is a plus. Ability to read technical manuals is helpful
Passion for History & Community: An appreciation for preserving cultural heritage is key. Familiarity with Indigenous relations or Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action is an asset.
