**SITE COORDINATOR/SAFETY PERSON - ENTRY LEVEL CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITY**

Avenue Building Corporation is a large formwork contractor that operates in the GTA. We service high-rise residential, ICI and civil sectors. We are looking for a Site Coordinator to join our growing team.

**Site Coordinator/Safety Person Role**

As a site coordinator, you will be an important part of our site management team. You will contribute to delivering our projects safely, on time, on budget and with superior quality.

You will be responsible for safety compliance on the job - both in terms of site documentation and worker adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring that workers comply with Avenue Group’s Health and Safety Policy, Avenue Group’s safe work procedures and individual site safety rules.

Plan and run weekly safety talks with site workers and foremen where safe work procedures are communicated. Ensure that the safe work procedures reflect the actual work being done on site.

You will provide administrative support for site staff. This includes, but is not limited to, time and material billing, tool and material ordering and tracking, worker payroll, RFI and Site Instruction tracking and management, maintaining trade coordination meeting minutes.

Daily liaising with Avenue Foremen, Avenue site workers, Avenue office staff and senior management, Construction Managers/General Contractors, Vendors & Suppliers and trade unions as required.

Follow up with workers on modified duties, complete required paperwork and ensure that appropriate tasks are offered.

Other tasks as needed or as your role evolves.

**Key Skills/Qualifications**

Graduate of a project management, construction management, health and safety or similar program

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken

Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak in front of a group

Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Safety training courses would be considered an asset (Working at Heights, WHMIS 2015, OHSA 4 Steps & 5 Steps)

Knowledge of reading construction drawings (structural & architectural) would be considered an asset

Must have valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle daily

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
