Prepress Manager

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**

**Team Management & Leadership**
- Supervise pre-press staff including graphic technicians, platemakers, and proofing operators. Recruit Train hire
- Set clear priorities, KPIs, and expectations for daily workflow and long-term performance.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate skill development.

**Artwork and File Management**
- Oversee all incoming artwork files and ensure they are pre-flighted, trapped, stepped, and prepared to flexographic standards.
- Liaise with design teams or customers to resolve file issues or incompatibilities early in the process.

**Plate Making & Equipment Oversight
- To be implemented within 2 years**
- Manage digital plate-making processes using systems such as Esko CDI or similar.
- Ensure plate quality, consistency, and availability for scheduled production.
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of pre-press equipment.

**Color Management & Quality Assurance**
- Implement and maintain robust color management processes, including fingerprinting and profile calibration.
- Ensure proofing systems reflect press conditions accurately; support first-article approvals and color corrections.
- Collaborate with pressroom for color consistency and minimize press make-ready time.

**Workflow Optimization & System Integration**
- Develop and optimize end-to-end pre-press workflows using software like Esko Automation Engine or similar.
- Support integration with ERP, MIS, or scheduling tools to streamline job ticketing and plate tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Attend job kickoff and pre-production meetings with planning, sales, press, and ink teams.
- Provide technical input during new product introductions or customer onboarding.

**Compliance & Documentation**
- Maintain documentation for color standards, proof approvals, and plate archives.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards (e.g., BRC, ISO, G7 if applicable).

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: Degree or diploma in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, or related field. Proven experience in a managerial role or similar capacity within the industry.
- **Experience**: Minimum 5 years of pre-press experience in wide web flexographic printing with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- **Software Proficiency**: Esko (DeskPack, Automation Engine, Studio), Adobe Creative Suite, RIP/CTP systems, and color proofing tools.
- **Skills**: Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on key performance indicators.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic thinking.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45,256.62-$109,530.31 per year
