Additional Skills
Supply and empty bed pans, Serve meal trays and feed patients, Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments, Make beds and maintain patients' rooms, Maintain inventory of supplies, Assist with the set-up and maintenance of traction equipment, cleaning or sterilizing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, and assembling, setting-up and operating job-related equipment

Specific Skills
Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Weigh, lift, turn and position patients, Supervise patients' exercise routines, Bathe, dress and groom patients, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, Answer call signals, Collect specimens, Administer first aid in emergency situations

Weight Handling
Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Work Setting
Nursing home/home for the aged

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.) Continuing Care Assistant Certification in Nova Scotia or eligible to become certified in Nova Scotia under the recognized prior learning program within 2 years of commencing employment
