**Health and Safety Advisor - NCSO designation (or in progress)**

We are looking for a Health and Safety Department Advisor to join our team for a secured salary position.

**Qualifications to Apply**:

- Must be COR certified
- Must be NCSO certified or in progress
- Must have min. 3-5 years experience within the construction industry as a Health Safety Manager
- Must have certified Alberta Operating Drivers License

**Direct Responsibilities and Primary Daily Focuses**:

- Review critical project inspections, manage necessary paperwork for all safety policies in our COR cooperate program.
- Assist Foremen and Supervisors with safety support regarding, material, equipment, on-site roofing safety practices.
- If an accident occurs, immediate primary role is to assist in accident investigation and emergency report findings.
- Authorized and instructed as necessary to issue written warnings, job shutdowns, and or develop new prevention practices for purpose of maintaining safe works sites, and maintaining production levels.
- Evaluates hazards and reviews legislations, to determine and purchase proper Personal Protective Equipment.
- The HSE Officer of Peddie Roofing and Waterproofing Ltd. oversees the Corporate/Project/Client Health and Safety and environmental programs.
- Advises Managers, Superintendent and Foremen in the health and safety and environmental areas.
- Conducts surveys, audits, investigations, and gathers information and data to identify trends in incidents and injuries.
- Implements, evaluates and administrates the HSE process to address opportunities for improvements, and makes recommendations for corrections that include programs for management, supervisors, employees and subcontractors.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including, but not limited to WHS, WCB, DOT and Company policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and administers Company policies and procedures concerning health, safety and environmental program implementation.
- Initiates and maintains safety awareness programs.
- Provides guidelines to Foremen through interpretation of the company/client regulatory safety requirements.
- Maintains professional relationship with the client’s safety representatives, the safety and health community in the area.
- Properly maintains records, reports and documentation that are required to meet corporate, client or regulatory requirements.
- Administers new employee/subcontractor orientation for all new employees and subcontractors.
- Analyzes safety concerns and recommend solutions.
- Maintains report documentation on employees safety violations.
- Conducts safety meetings.
- Manages WCB claims, modify work and communication with medical professionals and WCB claim managers.
- Conducts in-house training.
- Ensures the company compliance with all WHMS regulation.
- Performs Work sites safety inspections.

**The company will supply and pay for**:

- Travel costs relating to company business, airfare, hotel costs
- $600.00 monthly Truck expense and company gas card for business related usage only.
- Office supplies and company related expenses
- 2 weeks prorated days paid vacation. After your 1st paid salary calendar year of employment additional holidays can be reviewed can be reviewed upon your annual performance review.

**Compensation**:
**The following position is starting at $65,000.00-$70,000.00**

**Annual performance bonus is available**

**Additional Department Triff rate bonuses are available for discussion as well.**

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
