**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking an Operators Site Supervisor.
This person is the frontline Supervisor that supports the organic waste composting operations and manages specific day-to-day tasks and staff at our Main Street site.
**Responsibilities**:
- Planning Duties_
- Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the site
- Leads daily employee and/or planning “stand-up” meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of operational updates and daily goals
- Sets Operators’ schedule
- Ensures adequate levels of physical resources, including operating equipment and PPE
- Contributes to the development and management of the implementation of production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards
- Develops operations systems and procedures, including processes for receiving material, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping
- Control Duties_
- Manages site operation
- Ensures accident and incident reports are recorded, filed, and followed up
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing site safety standards and guidelines in collaboration with Health & Safety Officer
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and other training requirements
- Ensures operating process data, including production rates, are properly recorded and filed
- Ensures operators are properly trained for the job
- Manages and handle site waste and product shipping and receiving
- Ensures that the site meets regulations (WorkSafe BC, environmental regulations, etc.)
- Performance Duties_
- Counsel or discipline operators when appropriate
- Manages and assigns employees to ensure the efficient production at the site, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality
- Responsible for training new employees regarding job duties and performance expectations
- Prepares monthly operations reports to senior management
- Mediates and resolves staff disagreements at the operations levels
- Completes audits
- Operations Strategies and Improvements Duties_
- Proposes site and process improvements
- Improves quality, productivity and efficiency
**Qualifications**:
- Operations management experience
- Bachelor's degree, major in operations management, business, logistics, supply chain management or related field is a benefit
- Understanding of the waste management industry would be an important asset
- Direct leadership and management experience
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Work in a waste management environment an asset
- Ability to track and measure site performance and operators’ performance
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access (data base) and PowerPoint
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills
- Good understanding of legislation affecting workers and the environment
- Experience dealing with operating permits in British Columbia
- Ability to develop, implement and enforce operations’ policies and procedures
- Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, contractors, and employees
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to multitask, work independently and with a team, and under pressure is an asset
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, e.g., forklift, skid steer, wheeled loader, Class 3 truck an asset

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
