First Response Inc. / Ambipar Response are recruiting for an HSE Coordinator, based out of Abbotsford, BC. You will be responsible for supporting Health and Safety program operations by assessing and adhering to the standards required within First Response. You will work with employees to ensure staff are compliant with all current safety and health standards.

**WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF**:

- Participating, leading, and supporting Health and Safety initiatives,
- Constant communication with upper management to establish focus and priority items,
- Assisting with delivering and maintaining an Employee engaged Health and Safety program,
- Field Inspections - Assisting field staff in a coaching / mentorship role with hazard assessment identification and control,
- Reviewing client specific systems becoming proficient with their programs and expectations,
- Becoming orientated with client safety systems,
- Identifying and preventing hazardous situations, taking necessary measures to correct them,
- Providing guidance for maintaining workplace health and safety compliance,
- Assisting with COR maintenance audits and hazard assessment updates,
- Assisting with developing site/camp specific Emergency Response Plans (ERP),
- Conducting Health and Safety Onboarding / Training Compliance with new hires,
- Assisting with incident investigations and Health and Safety communications,
- Developing reviews and revisions of Safe work practice / procedure
- PPE/Equipment Management,
- Any other responsibilities associated with the role.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 1-3 years of progressive experience working in Occupational Health and Safety (field and administrative or equivalent experience),
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations and related codes (BC, AB). Working knowledge of generally accepted methods, industry standard procedures and technical principles/practices related to environmental consulting, oil and gas, emergency response and waste facility operations; knowledge and understanding of incident investigation and risk analysis,
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent),

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and is very detail oriented and organized,
- Accurate data entry into electronic project databases,
- Interpersonal, time management and prioritization skills,
- Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget,
- Ability to evaluate and develop appropriate safety related training presentations,
- Professional in communication and provide training sessions that inspires the best in others, set the example and lead the core value of Safety,
- Ability to travel, be on call during evenings and weekends.

**Salary**: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
