We are offering the exciting opportunity for an experienced plumbing and heating journeyman/ foreman to join our talented and growing Construction division. All work is local work within the Vancouver Lower Mainland (no out of town work). **What We Offer**: - A team of experienced professionals to contribute to career development - A fun but hardworking work environment - Diverse team, as well as clients and project bases - Competitive compensation package - Excellent extended benefits (medical, dental, vision) - Company events (when possible) - Paid vacation - Permanent & full‐time employment - Fuel Allowance - Cell Phone Allowance - Lower Mainland Work only (no out of town work) - No on call requirements - Considerable job variety **Your Role** Reporting to the project manager, you will play a key role as Foreman, responsible to provide oversight and guidance to our field staff, subcontractors, and GC, in partnership with the PM to successfully deliver projects on schedule and on budget. - Is a Journeyman Plumber and licensed class "B" gas fitter that has at least 3 years experience as a journeyman/ foreman in the construction sector - Has a good understanding of mechanical architectural, and structural drawings and specifications - Has a good understanding of the current plumbing code and can implement cost saving measures - Has a good understanding of full mechanical systems including work done by sub-trades including HVAC, and fire protection sub-trades. - Is inherently responsible, detail oriented and cost conscious (labour hours and material costs) - Can communicate with office staff, clients, sub-trades, vendors, and inspectors with any issues on projects. - Practices safe work **Has worked on projects such as**: - Low-rises - Warehouses - Restaurants - Tenant Improvements - Townhouses - Schools - Multi-level Office Buildings **Responsibilities will include but are not limited to**: - Self-motivated and the ability to maintain productivity without supervision - Organize & maintain scheduled installations of building plumbing systems - Coordinate with management for materials and labour/equipment/trucking required on job - Communicate daily with project manager to update on status of projects - Review, interpret and implement installations based on plans and specifications - To install all materials, equipment and systems in accordance with Specifications, Drawings, Site Instructions, Approved Change Orders/Directives. - Work with the project manager to ensure equipment deliveries arrive on time - Supervise workers and projects, train or arrange training - Responsible for testing all mechanical systems meeting local jurisdictions and engineer specifications - To advise the Project Management team any efficiencies or cost saving measures felt necessary to maximize project effectiveness. To work in a safe and timely manner and report to the Site Supervisor/PM team any inability to do so. - Review and manage site logistics to maximize material handling efficiencies - Ensure extra work identified onsite is communicated to project manager without delay. Write up and issue RFI’s to PM in a proactive manner - Meet with employees and subcontractors every morning to discuss the day’s activities, site hazards and safety concerns - Ensure all employees and subcontractors receive a site orientation and that orientation is documented - Check materials delivered to site to confirm the correct quantities and sizes are delivered and that the materials meet spec. and are not damaged. - Attend all necessary trade / scheduling meetings - Maintain an organized set of drawings, CCO’s, and Shop Drawings - Organize necessary tools for the days’ work at the beginning of the shift - Inspect the site at the end of the shift to make sure no tools have been left out - Professional and courteous in both appearance and action **Qualifications**: - Registered Plumbing Journeyperson ( Red Seal ) - Experienced in a foreman or lead hand role ( 3 years minimum ) - Knowledge and ability for industry safe work practices **You must be living in Canada and possess a valid work permit - no out of country applicants please.** **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $34.00-$40.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Company car - Dental care - Extended health care - Vision care Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Monday to Friday - On call **Experience**: - plumbing: 3 years (required) Licence/Certification: - drivers license (required) - reliable vehicle (required)
