**Summary of Position**:

As an Associate, you will work directly alongside our Commercial brokers as well as team members in the broader Affinity and Canadian business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to build a career with a dynamic team as a broker.
This role is a great way to learn about multiple kinds of insurance, negotiation and technical details as well as the processes to acquire new business and facilitate policy renewals.
**Each day in this role could include**:
- Processing commercial insurance renewals, policy changes, new business and cancellations
- Comparing data on documents received from the insurer and match to the changes requested or compare renewals and data within the client file
- Working within our broker management system (EPIC) to update client files, attach documents, input changes etc.
- Communicating invoicing instructions and billing changes to our accounting department and payment follow-ups with the client
- Preparing reports, certificates, draft proposals and other documents as required for the commercial brokers
- Data input and sorting for renewal lists and tracking sheets
- Monitoring general inboxes and triaging requests
- General follow ups with insurer and clients, including sending original renewal notifications, following up for policy documents, follow ups for outstanding information, etc.
- Support to the commercial team on various projects
- Support and research for business development initiatives
- Providing timely and professional customer service on existing and new client accounts
- Ability to become a broker on client files (licensing required)
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Obtain/sort documents and information quickly
- Proficient in data entry and strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A positive attitude and a willingness to share knowledge and insight with the team
- Effective communication skills - both written and oral
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence decisions and gain agreement and support
- A results-oriented professionalism with a strong work ethic
- Experience with broker management systems - Applied Epic and Policy Works would be beneficial
**Qualifications and Experience**
- RIBO license, or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, Teams, Excel
- Computer efficiency and ability to learn to use new software systems
- Prior experience in a brokerage or with an insurer considered an asset
- Prior experience working in an office or in a team environment
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience

**Additional Details**

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
