**About the Role**

We are seeking a Utility Locates Support to join our dynamic team for a temporary position. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are interested in gaining experience in the telecommunications industry. As an Utility Locates Support, you will work with GIS tools to identify and mark underground utilities, interpret site plans, and collaborate with project teams.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Visiting various work sites (will be required to work in all weather conditions), as well as work in the office
- Reading and interpreting site plans, construction print data and maps, to assist in location of subsurface utility facilities
- Locating and marking subsurface utilities with a range of geophysical tools
- Work with GIS tools to determine location of underground high-voltage electrical cables, water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, and communications lines, as well as duct banks and electric/water/gas taps to buildings.
- Collaborate closely with project teams emphasizing the detection and mapping of subsurface utilities
- Verify, identify, and label public and private utility mains and other services primarily located underground
- Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of themselves and customers
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in a related post-secondary program is a plus
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in the field
- Good physical fitness, able to perform active tasks and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

**Nice to Haves**
- Previous experience in field work or outdoor data collection (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended days
- Basic understanding of GPS and mobile data collection tools
- Personal vehicle. We reimburse mileage for work (preferred but not required)
