**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Public Policy/Administration, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in public administration, planning, or program development in healthcare or social services.

Experience with MHSU clinical service systems is considered an asset.

Valid BC Driver's License.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to model organizational values and vision
- Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing, with exceptional business writing and editorial abilities as well as attention to detail
- Strong knowledge, skills and breadth of experience in health systems and clinical standards (policy) development
- Ability to work independently and organizing workload in order to plan and complete both small and large-scale initiatives including the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and scheduled activities
- Ability to assemble, review and synthesize complex information and make succinct analyses and/or recommendations
- Experience conducting and drafting rapid policy reviews, memos, and other internal communication materials as requested
- Ability to create and manage complex document filing, indexing and retrieval systems.
- Ability to lead and coordinate working groups, build relationships and achieve consensus-based decision-making among a variety of individuals
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to perform the duties of the position and related equipment including various word processing and database software
