**We are looking for compassionate, outgoing and friendly people to work as Direct Support Professionals for our St.Amant community.**

**Position Summary**:
Support Workers are responsible for the delivery of services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and/or autism within a community setting. The Support Worker provides residential or support services which align with St.Amant's Mission & Values, provincial legislation and regulations. Support Workers ensure that services are provided in a way that:

- Optimizes dignity, self-determination and attainment of personal outcomes.
- Maximizes environmental and lifestyle choices desired by the individual.
- Incorporates high quality support and treatment.
- Supports education, training and work opportunities.

The Support Worker is responsible for monitoring and assessing the health needs of individuals supported, assisting with daily living routines, and ensuring the safety & well being of the individuals being supported. By supporting individuals, the Support Worker will act as an advocate when required, and foster spirituality as desired by the individual.

This position reports to a community based Team Leader.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade XII Diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain certification in CPR and Emergency First Aid.
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License and Abstract in good standing.
- Check and Prior Contact Check (CFS).
- Positive, energetic, self-directed and person focused.
- Experience providing services to people with disabilities an asset, but not required
- Knowledge of basic cooking and household management skills.
- Physical ability and emotional stability to support peoples’ physical needs and respond appropriate to challenging behavior.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with peers, clinicians, professional staff and families.
- Must be comfortable performing personal care duties (dressing, bathing, changing briefs)

St.Amant is a bilingual organization. Proficiency in both official languages (French/English) would be considered an asset.

The goal of this initiative is to have people we support exploring and establishing relationships with people in the community.

As a Condition of Employment, new hires must complete a series of Occupational Health checks. This includes the requirement to confirm immunization or immunity of specific communicable diseases. Successful applicants will also be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to start date.

**Shifts are available any time of day but most are evenings and weekends. Staff must be available to work every other weekend.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $14.95-$18.30 per hour
