An exciting leadership opportunity awaits within the Medical Ambulatory department at South Health Campus Hospital The Unit Manager for Medical Ambulator, Endoscopy, HPTP and Day Medicine performs a leadership role in the Portfolio of Cardiac Sciences, Clinical Neurosciences and Medical Services. The position reports directly to the Program Manager of these areas. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization of 7 different Specialty areas: in collaboration with the leadership team on a zonal level, while also ensuring the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is accountable for making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for achieving goals within the department level that in turn impacts Medical Services on a zonal level. This may include Strategic Planning, Operational Leadership, Relationship Management, People Management, Performance Management, Change Leadership, Resource Management, Risk Management and Quality Improvement Initiatives. The Unit Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders who include patients, families, SHC staff, physicians and community services.

**Required Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications: A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Health Related field. Current professional registration in good standing. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute care facility. Current leadership experience. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and achieve goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medical Services is strongly preferred (GI, Endoscopy, HPTP, Day Medicine, Acute Medical Unit) Experience in an Ambulatory setting Facilitation in change management Understanding of Quality Improvement Fundamentals Payroll, rotation and scheduling experience (WFM experience) Human resource management experience / Performance Management Understanding Unionized contracts (UNA, AUPE, AUPE GSS, HSAA)
