The Edmonton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Mental Health team. In this role, you will provide vital support to individual military family members through specialized programs and services that will help to enhance their strength and resilience as they navigate the unique challenges of military life.
This Social Work role, under the Mental Health Team Lead, develops, implements, assesses, and delivers crisis intervention and mental health services to military families. This involves initial and ongoing contact with individuals, screening for needs, providing referrals, short-term counselling, crisis intervention, program development, facilitation of preventive workshops, networking with community resources, and responding to critical incidents.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor of Social Work degree with membership or the ability to register with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ASCW).
- At least three years' experience in delivering community social work, crisis intervention. prevention work, supportive counseling/advising, and interdisciplinary team navigation services
- Successful completion of a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check and a clear Child Welfare Intervention Check.
- A willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
- The ability to work with confidential information in a professional and sensitive manner.
- Proficiency in utilizing a strength-based, client-centered approach to support clients effectively.
- Proven ability to innovate and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills that actively engage clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Teams.
- Knowledge of the unique challenges of the military lifestyle an asset
The salary range for this position is $60,229.00-$65,144.00 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Le Centre de ressources des familles militaires d’Edmonton (CRFM) recherche un.e travailleur.e social.e compatissant.e et dévoué.e pour rejoindre l’équipe de santé mentale. À ce poste, vous offrirez du soutien personnalisé aux membres des militaires par le biais de programmes et services spécialisés qui aideront à élargir leurs forces et leur résilience et à faire face aux défis uniques liés à la vie militaire.
Ce poste de travailleur social, sous la supervision de la chef d’équipe en santé mentale, est responsable de l'élaboration, de la mise en œuvre, du maintien, de l'évaluation et de la prestation directe de services d'intervention en cas de crise et de services de santé mentale et de bien-être aux familles des militaires. Cela comprend le contact initial et continu avec les individus, le dépistage des besoins, l'évaluation et l'aiguillage, l’offre de conseils à court terme, l'intervention en cas de crise, l'élaboration de programmes, l'animation d'ateliers préventifs, le réseautage avec les ressources communautaires ainsi que l'intervention en cas d'incidents critiques.
La personne idéale s’inspirera de la mission du CRFM pour aider les familles militaires à être plus fortes et résilientes, et utilisera sa compréhension sur l’approche des problèmes en santé mentale pour aider notre communauté.
Compétences minimum souhaitées:
- Posséder un bac en travail social et être enregistré.e (ou être éligible à l’être) auprès du Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
- Posséder un minimum de 3 ans d’expérience auprès d’enfants et de familles en situation de crise (violence familiale, suicide, enfant à risque).
- Avoir une preuve de vérification de casier judiciaire avec secteur vulnérable et vérification de l’intervention des services de protection de l’enfance.
- Être capable de travailler sur des heures flexibles, incluant les soirs et fin de semaines.
- Être capable de travailler avec de l’information confidentielle de façon professionnelle et sensible.
- Expérience dans l’utilisation de pratiques fondées sur les forces et centrées sur le client.
- Générer de nouvelles idées et pouvoir travailler en équipe.
- Capacité à animer et communiquer effectivement afin d’aider les clients.
- Posséder une excellente maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office et MS Teams.

La fourchette salariale se situe entre 60,229$ et 65,144$ par année, selon les qualifications et l’expérience.
