Sqf Practitioner

The SQF Practitioner has a thorough understanding of, and works in compliance with, the HACCP and SQF programs. Specific accountabilities for food safety include, but are not limited to:

- performing monthly SQF premises inspections,
- conducting/participating in SQF verification activities
- conducting/participating in daily walks and reports,
- training new employees on GDP,
- identifying and correcting GDP deviations or conditions

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Works directly with 3rd party auditors during yearly SQF audit
- Works directly with client auditors during facility audits
- Responsible for completion of corrective actions (CARs).
- Responsible for coordinating overall HACCP requirements and GFSI certification
- Ensures that critical control points (CCPs) are implemented and recorded as per HACCP plan;
- Responsible for updating program accordingly along with necessary control sheets
- Manages employees in compliance with HR policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct regarding HACCP and ensures that all employees follow personal hygiene policy;
- Model and ensure staff understand HACCP and SQF policies and codes of conduct and procedures which maintain proper control of production;
- Responsible for enforcing SQF, HACCP & GDP specifications based on the company’s HACCP & GFSI standards;
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of sanitation services in conjunction with the Warehouse Managers;
- Overlooks and analyzes Client Complaints;
- Special projects as assigned by General Manager.

**Health and Safety**
- Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the OH&S Act.
- Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.

**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:

- University degree in food science, food engineering or related fields;
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety programs (HACCP, GFSI, SQF, etc.);
- Completed prerequisite courses in HACCP, SQF and SQF: Internal audits
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role in the food industry;
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills in French and English;
- Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Must be proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Must have people skills for working with individuals and teams
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Experienced licensed lift truck driver in counterbalance and Swing Reach.
- Attention to detail - data entry, analysis, counts, reviewing work
- Assigns the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.
- Practices and maintains integrity while following the Company policies and procedures.
- Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
