**Job Title**: Lab Assistant
**Department**: School of Environmental Studies and Biotechnology
**Location**: College Drive Campus - North Bay, ON
**Status**: Regular Part-Time - 9-month position
**Hours Per Week**: Up to 24 hours
**Pay Rate**: $18.84/hour
**Application Deadline**: Thursday, June 26, 2025 - 12:00 p.m.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Degree in the field of Environmental Studies or Biotechnology
- Recent laboratory experience in applied microbiology and chemistry
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with preparation of microbiology media and chemical solutions, maintain cultures and perform quality assurance processes to ensure quality control on all lab materials and equipment
- Clean, disinfect and sterilize lab equipment and maintain labs to ensure safe and orderly environment
- Assist with lab set-ups to ensure equipment is in place and functioning prior to use by students and faculty
- Assist with inventory of lab supplies and equipment, initiate purchase orders and follow-up for delivery, and initiate equipment maintenance requests
