The Financial Analyst, FP&A will be an integral part of the GTA Urban (GTU) Finance Team helping to drive process improvement initiatives, supporting our month-end and budgeting cycles, and introducing new financial models and analyses. This is an exciting role that will support both FP&A team (75%) and Business Analytics team (25%) on the 5-Year plan, quarterly forecasts, and maintain project pro forma models. This cross-training will give the incumbent opportunities to excel in providing quantitative and qualitative analytics to support decision making and proactive financial analysis throughout the division. This shared success will help improve finance processes and continue to propel Mattamy into the most respected, homeowner-centric condominium brand in the GTA.

**Responsibilities**

**Financial Reporting,**
**Planning & Analysis**
**(75%)**
- Liaise with accounting and coordinate the preparation of journal entries including statistics for month-end
- Perform monthly detailed analyses and investigations on financial performance; identify the cause behind discrepancies of expected results
- Find opportunities for process improvement in the month-end, forecast, and budget and help implement and execute changes
- Analyze the profitability, projections, and other financial modelling to support decision making, financial feasibility and new business initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis requested by Departments, Corporate Office, etc.
- Responsible for various components of the GTU strategic plan, quarterly forecasts, and annual budget process including SG&A
- Support the partnering with department leaders to understand drivers and assumptions to improve forecasting accuracy as well as identify risks, opportunities, and potential actions.
- Work to foster and support the development of strategic business partnerships with functional and departmental leaders.
- Communicate financials and operational impacts into layman's terms for operational leaders.

**Business Analytics (25%)**
- Support the Business Analytics team in building new solutions on a project-by-project basis
- Assist with the deployment of the pro forma model including the communication on all bug fixes
- Aid in maintaining the integrity of MS JDE Access database

**What You Bring**
- University degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
- Possess or pursuing CPA/CFA designation
- 2+ years of experience in a finance role
- Related industry experience is an asset but not required - High Rise residential or ICI (Industrial/Commercial/Institutional)
- Intermediate Excel skills (advanced formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion or Essbase is an asset
- Experience with MS BI Technologies (SQL Server, Power BI, Power Pivot, Visual Basic) is an asset
- Advanced analytical skills and detailed oriented
- Ability to communicate complex problems verbally, written or via presentation/dashboards
- Team player who is willing to help and contribute to team success
- Highly curious individual who is willing to learn
- Superior organization and planning skills; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity
