Toromont Material Handling is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team. The Financial Analyst will work closely with Operations to ensure proper accounting of parts and service transactions at Toromont Material Handling. The role will be a combination of recordkeeping and detailed financial analysis. The analyst will work closely with the Controller and the Parts Team to ensure proper accounting of parts transactions with focus on the parts sub-ledger reconciliation as well as other parts related accounts.

**In a typical day, YOU will**:
- Prepare various journal entries, adjustments and monthly account reconciliations
- Perform monthly reconciliations on parts inventory
- Provide assistance in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages to Corporate
- Prepare preliminary Annual Budget and quarterly Re-forecasts
- Review company expenses and results analysis of key performance indicators
- Review monthly financial statements to ensure that there are no material errors in parts and service transactions
- Produce ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
- Learn existing processes and quickly recognize areas for improvement.
- Use detective skills to identify and explain variances, then build on this knowledge to improve processes
- Participate in identifying process gaps and recommending improvements
- Perform internal checks/audits to help team with internal controls compliance
- Ensure tasks are performed in compliance with accounting standards and company policies and procedures
- Work with Inventory Control department to ensure proper procedures and best practices are being followed and communicated to Operations
- Review equipment costings; enter transactions into equipment subledger and General ledger
- Calculating conversions of Rentals with a Purchase Option contracts
- Analyze and book various equipment and customer support contract provisions, write
- downs and monthly reserves
- Calculating equipment and product support sales commissions
- Support the department as business needs arise and other tasks as requested
**Must-haves for this role**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or a combination of comparable education and work experience
- CPA, CA, CGA, CMA or CPA designation being pursued is an asset
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting or related work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to prioritize work and consistently meet tight internal and external deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Being a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams)
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
