Position Title: Indian Cuisine Line Cook
Location: Bollywood Bar & Lounge
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and appetizers, according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared with precision and attention to detail, maintaining consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
- Handle and prepare a wide range of spices and ingredients commonly used in Indian cuisine.
- Operate specialized Indian cooking equipment, such as tandoori ovens, tawas, and pressure cookers, safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food temperatures during cooking to ensure proper cooking and food safety standards are met.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of Indian dishes, especially during busy service periods.
- Assist in the development of new Indian recipes and menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of Indian ingredients and notifying management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook specializing in Indian cuisine, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, spices, and regional cuisines.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation practices (preferred).
**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited culinary school (preferred).
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.20-$17.00 per hour
