Quality Assurance Lab Specialist

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
1. Supports trial and pre-production activity leading to full part approval (through the development and detailed document preparation of all trial part scans or as required).
2. Establish a sound and proficient system to perform Checking Fixture calibration and verification using the 3D scanner (HandySCAN 3D Black).
3. Establish a schedule for all measurement tools to be calibrated within a specified time frame.
4. Order, repair and maintain measurement tools.
5. Maintain the QA Lab in an organized condition and stocked with the necessary consumables (5S - Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
6. Ensure perpetual compliance to documented quality system documentation.
7. Support functions enabling them to provide sound, confident judgement for part quality related enquiries both internally and externally.
8. Assemble critical metrics from scanned data, analyze using appropriate tools to identify trends and report to Management on a periodic basis.
9. Facilitates and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Monitor and measure effectiveness of company internal processes and suggest and implement improvements regularly.
11. Support QA Management as required.
12. Other related duties.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
1. Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
2. Post-Secondary diploma/degree from a Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
3. Advanced knowledge and proficiency with 3D CAD modeling, 2D drawings.
4. Fluent in GD&T.
5. Proficient with **VX Model Software**, **PolyWorks** (Inspector Software) and **SolidWorks**.
6. Familiarity with automotive regulatory requirements.
7. Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
8. Excellent metrology skills with current technology.
9. Strong background in quality management systems (ISO9001, TS16949).
10. Experience with gage calibration, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, corrective action, control plans, document control.
11. High attention to detail.
12. Technical savvy.
13. Commitment, adaptability and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
14. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
15. Work independently without appreciable direction.
**SCHEDULE**:
1. Full-Time, Monday - Friday
**SHIFT**:
2. Two (2) week rotational cycle including occasional O/T requirements that may be required during the week and/or on weekends
**LENGTH**:Permanent
