Do you want to make an impact which is environmental, healthy, and fulfilling?

We are looking for a motivated and organized Fundraising Volunteer to join our team.

The Volunteer(s) would pick up end-of-day bread from a bakery and deliver them to the planned site/location, build relationships with potential donors/public, collect surplus food from restaurants for the homeless/needy and manage the fundraising process from the start to finish. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and has the skills necessary to successfully help us fight food waste, feed the needy, and raise funds through fundraising events if required.

- Save-the-Bread®_ is a non-profit community-driven social venture working on several goals that are all tied up into one foremost issue—food waste.

We are engaging, rewarding, and social. Our goals are to Stop food waste; Stop hunger; Support mental health; Stop waste of all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, package, and cook food; Save the planet from producing greenhouse gases.

We are doing our part in preventing food waste by collecting unsold bread/baked goods from local restaurants/bakeries/stores by the end of the day to feed people in need. Our fundraising activities involve but are not limited to bake sales, and/or selling custom logo t-shirts, cups, gift packs, or other items to raise funds for necessities, including grocery gift cards, for needy/homeless people on the streets/shelters in Toronto and Scarborough Area.

**Responsibilities**:

- To learn about a thorough introduction to the work of _Save-The-Bread® _and your volunteering role, and the induction and/or training you need to meet the responsibilities of this role.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies, if required.
- Help us identify new opportunities for fundraising.
- Develop relationships with potential donors and maintain existing relationships with current donors.
- Attend fundraising events, i.e. bake sale fundraisers.
- Explain the purpose of fundraising to the general public.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and carry at least 10-15 lbs. of food boxes together with other team members.
- Must have a clear background/police check.
- Must be hygienic, and have a good sense of cleanliness.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive to local restaurants/bakery, if required.
- International students/new immigrants are also welcome to apply.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $0.50-$1.00 per year

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends only
