**What does your day at GIP look like?**

As an Asphalt Plant Operator, you will work in a team environment in the production of hot-mix asphalt. Primary duties include is to operate and perform duties necessary to keep the plant in a good operational condition as per company policy.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Operate asphalt plant to produce hot mix asphalt.
- Print and process load tickets
- Perform Daily inspection of equipment and maintain as per company policy.
- Operate front-end loader to load asphalt and be able to keep up with production as well as
- maintaining incoming materials and stockpiles
- Complete basic quality control tests
- Lubricate and replace parts as necessary.
- Document daily production/inventory, quality control results, maintenance logs etc.
- Keep environmental policies intact and be aware of possible hazards and reporting practices.
- Deal with customers.
- Operate skid steer and forklift to transfer and organize materials at plant.
- Clean and organize plant, yard, and equipment.

- High school diploma or college diploma in a related discipline
- Have mechanical knowledge and experience of bearing replacement and equipment functionality.
- Computer literate to operate asphalt production equipment.
- Must have experience operating a front-end loader.
- Experience working in an asphalt plant or manufacturing plant setting.
- Mechanical equipment aptitude for general plant maintenance
- Knowledge of various fasteners and tools required.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Proficient working with Excel for data entry and inventory tracking
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
- Pleasant customer service-oriented attitude
- Able to work independently in a busy environment.
- Comfort in working in a rugged outdoor environment.
- Physically fit; Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Valid G Driver's Licence
- Safety conscious
- Willing and flexible to work overtime as required.
- Experience working in an aggregate crushing plant or concrete production plant is an asset.
- Mechanical background and or experience in an industrial environment is an asset.
- Experience driving forklift and /or skid steer is an asset (can provide training).
- Welding and Oxy/acetylene torch experience is nice to have.
