This role is responsible for leading plant engineering, maintenance, and capital project activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. The Plant Engineer plays a critical role in continuous improvement, asset reliability, energy management, and compliance while providing leadership to maintenance teams and contractors. Daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Propose, justify, design, procure, construct, commission, and support training for capital and engineering projects across the plant Provide overall leadership, training, and supervision to maintenance personnel and external contractors Manage the plant maintenance department to ensure safe operation, cost effectiveness, and continuous improvement Develop and implement maintenance routines, procedures, and downtime elimination strategies Plan, budget, schedule, and coordinate capital and engineering projects Provide manufacturing engineering support to production operations Support and maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality audit requirements Develop and support energy management initiatives, including utility reduction and waste heat recovery Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and capital justification Collaborate with engineers, production teams, technicians, and contractors to achieve operational goals Utilize CMMS systems to manage maintenance activities and asset reliability Mandatory Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment (plant engineering and/or maintenance) Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical staff and contractors Sound technical knowledge of applicable engineering standards and codes (e.g., TSSA, CSA, ESA) Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety legislation Experience managing maintenance operations using a CMMS Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills Salary Range: $130,000–$150,000 If you are interested in learning more about the Plant Engineer job opportunity, please submit your updated resume to jody@itecgroup.ca We are recruitment industry leaders committed to quality service, integrity, respect and equal opportunity.
