**Volker Stevin Highways** is seeking an experienced **Bridge Worker. **A **Bridge Worker **is a skilled bridge/construction worker involved with the maintenance and construction of bridge structures and other types of related infrastructure. The work involves a wide variety of activities using numerous tools, equipment, and materials.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Operate and perform minor maintenance on equipment such as jackhammers, drills, chainsaws, tampers, sandblasters, and concrete vibrators.
- Work on the structural steel and concrete components of bridges, and assist in bridge washing, cleaning, painting, sandblasting, sealing, grouting, placing structural concrete, etc.
- Handle various toxic products such as epoxies, grouts, sealers, paints, thinners, and cleaners.
- Assist in work site set up, maintenance, and clean up, including scaffolding construction and dismantling, barricade locating, and equipment locating.
- Work with a variety of new and salvage materials ensuring optimum usage.
- Inspect and maintain the vehicles, tools and equipment that are used to ensure Company standards are met, and promptly report any possible problems or defects.
- Load and unload materials from trucks.
- Perform flagman duties.

- Perform other related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; a clean driver’s abstract.
- 3 years of experience with Bridge Work or Construction.
- Experience in heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of fabricating, building, and removing formwork and falsework including installation of embedded metals
- Experience placing, consolidating, finishing, and curing concrete for all types of structural elements in all weather conditions
- Out-of-town and weekend work will be required.
