**Position Summary**:The Deli Clerk is responsible for carrying out the wide variety of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver outstanding customer service, foster a strong customer experience, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

**Required Qualifications & Competencies**:

- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot food item
- Cash register operation, handling cash transactions accurately
- Provide superior customer service to all guests
- Ensure cleaning and sanitation standards are met
- Assist customers with their orders and provide excellent customer service
- Upsell additional deli items or promotions to customers
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow proper food handling procedures and adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Regularly washing dishes
- Using a slicer to cut meat and cheese
- Stocking groceries and merchandising of product
- Putting away stock orders.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous retail or customer service experience in a grocery setting is an asset
- We are willing to train positive, energetic, and success-oriented individuals with relevant experience
- Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for every customer
- Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
- Work well in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of European and Dutch products is an asset
- Food handling certificate is an asset
