Member Relations Ambassador

**Job Purpose**

The purpose of this role is to ensure the success of member development initiatives including attraction and retention of members. Specifically, this includes liaising with existing and potential members to achieve monthly and annual membership retention/renewal targets, new member sign-up targets and member communications quotas.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary as Chamber needs require. Aurora Chamber of Commerce maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.
- Actively perform membership recruitment, engagement and retention activities including welcoming all new businesses to Aurora, attending grand openings/ribbon cutting events, anniversaries, contacting new members at least three (3) times during their first year of membership to review benefits and services provided and ensure the Chamber is meeting their needs and/or expectations by reviewing and addressing concerns
- Develop presentation for and lead new member orientation sessions. Meet with new members to provide orientation, prepare new member packages and introduce new members throughout the membership
- Lead the sales process for advertising in the Business Directory. Cull the member content for the publication, vet for accuracy, and make recommendations to members on their account identities. In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop the plan for the Directory, set out timelines, participate in the proofing of the document at each pass. Ensure accuracy of information, spelling, format, etc.
- Collaborate with the Events Manager to innovate and further develop the current events, recommending new opportunities to further engage members
- Implement and achieve the membership retention plan targets as provided by the Board’s Strategic and/or Business Plan
- Review the Membership Report and Aged Receivables Report monthly and contact past due members
- Maintain GrowthZone member and prospect database and ensure all new member organizations and their employees are set up appropriately, including all automated billing tasks.
- Coordinate member Chamber networking events and chair the events, such as ACE (Aurora Chamber Entrepreneurs), WIN, etc.
- Lead digital media advertising sales for the Chamber.
- Digital Marketing - In conjunction with the Marketing Coordinator, responsible for the updating of content on ACOC website using WordPress. Responsible for the video production and editing of social media and Business Excellence videos. Responsible for the posting of grand openings, anniversaries, and spontaneous events to social media. Developing and implementing the Insider e-Newsletter monthly
- Connect with members to obtain information required for their GrowthZone profile
- Conduct analysis to identify trends, member engagement, member segmentation, etc.
- Assist in developing sales presentations and materials for affinity and member benefit programs ensuring consistency in look
- Certified document commissioner

**Educational Requirements**
Education Required: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or related field of study

Other Education/Certification/Training preferred: Digital Marketing

**Work Experience Requirements**

Work experience required: Minimum of 2 years

Job-related experience required: 2+ years in a related role with advertising sales, member recruitment and retention of members, digital marketing

**Technical Requirements**
Software: Proficient in MS Office Suite, Canva, Constant Contact, Social Media, and databases - preferably GrowthZone or similar database,

Vehicle: Must have a valid G driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle to travel within York Re
