**Who we are**
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ over 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.
**The role**:
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, well-rounded, Manager to join our dynamic R&D and Government Incentives team. This role will focus on Government Incentives and will assist clients in identifying and securing Government Grants for innovation, employment development, economic growth, clean technology and international market expansion. Your role as a key member of our team will be in client service, team leadership and engagement management. You will influence and empower team members to achieve their professional goals and contribute to a motivating team environment. In this role you will be making a difference by helping clients achieve their business goals; our clients include agri-food, advanced manufacturing, biotechnology/pharma and software/IT disciplines.

- Work in a fast growing and challenging environment with like-minded people who are eminent in their respective field
- Review of client information to understand our client’s business activities and mapping to available Government funding
- Continue your professional development to reinforce and expand your chosen career path
- Work with high profile clients on a variety of Canadian engagements
- Proactively understand the needs of the client and work with them to develop relevant and valuable funding solutions and planning strategies
- Build client relationships at a senior level and be recognized as a trusted business advisor
- Participate in the development and delivery of internal training programs
- Actively mentor and coach team members to their highest potential
- Create a learning environment through leadership
**Be Grant Thornton**
If you’re a bit like us, you’re driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. Here we walk in others shoes before taking action. Just imagine being part of a team that puts “we before me”, where flexAbility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back. At Grant Thornton, you’ll work with inspiring leaders who support your development, both personally and professionally. This is a place where your insatiable curiosity enables you to think, see and hear from a variety of perspectives, a place where every day is different and having the courage to grow is part of who you are. And when all this comes together, well that’s when the magic happens
**Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Grants Manager? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick**:
- A University graduate preferably from an English, Business or Science/Engineering discipline
- Professional and personal demeanor with excellent client service and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated team player, willing to take initiative and eager to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to convey ideas in a simple manner

**Our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person. That’s why we’re working in a hybrid model, which to us means three days a week in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely two days a week. At Grant Thornton, it’s all about creating an amazing life fuelled by a rewarding career**
At Grant Thornton we’re focused on making a difference in the lives of our clients, our colleagues and our communities. That’s our purpose. Or, as we like to say, living our purple.
