Grant Administration Manager

**Purpose**:
The Grant Administration Manager leads the development, coordination and submission of high-quality proposals to various funding organizations (e.g. government ministries/agencies, philanthropic organizations, internal grants, donors) and advances the strategic priorities of the Division of Students. The Grant Administration Manager maintains positive working relationships with funders and liaises with Divisional units to support development of successful funding proposals and timely submission of reports. The role works closely with Divisional senior management to explore strategic opportunities, identify resource needs, prepare grant expenditures and actively pursue new opportunities.

**Education**:
University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Project management certification an asset.

**Experience**:
A minimum of 3 year's experience developing and preparing grant proposals or similar funding initiatives. Experience with financial planning, monitoring and reporting on funding. Experience preparing strategic documents that cross multi-functional areas. Experience dealing with various stakeholders and audiences to secure funding.

**Skills**:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of granting organizations and processes.
- Knowledge of communication techniques (oral and written) to communicate effectively and persuasively with funding sources.
- Familiarity with current and emerging issues associated with postsecondary. Education and potential alignment with interests/priorities of granting organizations.
- Knowledge of the principles of strategic planning and project management. Skills developing projects from conception through implementation.

Skills
- High level of proficiency in both oral and written communication for multiple purposes and audiences.
- Effective problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work manage projects in a rapidly changing environment, under tight timelines with limited resource.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to work with diverse teams/stakeholders and external groups.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets, databases and project management software.
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of the Division Connection, Courage and Empathy.

**Additional Notes**:

- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
