Railtown Cafe General Manager

Railtown Café is hiring We are seeking a new member to join our leadership team as **General Manager**. He/She will manage all "front of house” activities for our 3 Cafe locations in Vancouver. They will oversee 6 Managers and approximately 25 hourly employees. We are seeking a passionate qualified leader to be a role model who is hands on, driven, and committed to upholding our hospitality standards. He/She must possess an owner mentality when operating the business, a strong level of financial acumen, and excellent communication and organizational skills. **Responsibilities**: - Manage the successful day-to-day operations of the 3 cafés - Facilitate communications between the cafes and other departments within the organization - Hire, train, manage, and oversee the café staff to ensure customers receive the highest level of satisfaction and product quality possible (including: hiring, firing, performance management, discipline, and recognition) - Organize monthly meetings, conduct departmental meetings and daily briefings - Review and communicate financial information and targets with other Managers - Coordinate with the PR team regarding features and photoshoots - Coordinate special events in the Cafes - Oversee scheduling and labor targets - Assist with training and covering shifts as needed - Organize the POS software, Railtown’s App development, and our third party delivery services - Serve as the lead customer service contact at the café for customers (including: answering questions, and resolving complaints) - Monitor, update, and analyze café daily, weekly, and monthly budget, revenues, and expenses to maximize profit - Maintain, implement, and develop café policies and procedures - Coordinate with vendors and maintain inventories; order supply when needed - Other duties as assigned **Qualifications and Experience**: - 3-5 years of previous General Manager experience in a quality, contemporary, full service/fast casual environment - Must follow direction, self-motivate, work clean and stay organized - Communicate clearly which requires listening and speaking - Focus on the details, especially food and beverage quality, food safety and sanitation, restaurant cleanliness, appearance and productivity - Fix problems quickly and be able to turn a bad situation into a great one - Understand our technologies and care about accuracy - Understand and analyze the P&L and course correct as needed without waiting to be told - Have an active Serving it Right Certificate **Schedule**: - Full time: A flexible schedule is required. However, it’s primarily a Monday to Friday job with no late evenings.
