Responsbilities:

- Have current certificates for all safety training requirements.
- Ensure all safety equipment on the site have current certificates and are fit for use.
- Ensure gas monitors are bump tested daily and maintain records.
- Report all deficiencies to the site Supervisor.
- Assist site supervisor in performing daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Perform daily site inspections and maintain records, as directed by supervisor.
- Perform inspections on all equipment brought onto site and maintain records, as directed by supervisor.
- Perform Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) Verifications on all workers at regular intervals throughout each project.
- Identify and report all site-specific hazards to your supervisor. Ensure any hazards are eliminated or mitigated prior to performing related tasks.
- Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.
- Follow and be an advocate for all rules, policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, company safety program, and all other applicable legislation.
- Perform daily worksite safety inspections.
- Inspect all safety equipment and PPE prior to use.
- Gas monitoring and ensuring adequate ventilation, as well as mitigating and/or eliminating other potential hazards.
- Review rescue plans and evacuation procedures with all workers prior to starting work.
- Ensure that all pertinent safety paperwork is completed accurately, neatly and in a timely manner.
- Assist in providing; training, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced co-workers.
- Maintain site safety statistics

**Requirements**:

- Must have 2 - 5 years’ experience working as a Safety Watch in the Oil & Gas industry
- Safety conscious, knowledge of safe operations.
- Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade.
- Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management and decision-making skills.
- Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Able to work individually and as a team member able to safely and comfortably carry out physical duties.
- Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers.
- Uncompromising devotion to quality with high attention to detail.
- Team player and good communication skills are essential and must also be able to work independently.
- Have flexibility to accommodate changes to work schedule.
- Previous experience with confined space watch;
- Able to climb, bend and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively;
- Comfortable working from heights;
- Physically able for work;
- Able to follow all safety policies and procedures;
- Able to pass A&D Testing;

**Conditions**:

- Perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Walks approximately 2-4 kilometers per day on a variety of surfaces including, concrete and gravel.
- Working at heights when required.
- Requires manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as lifting overhead, twisting and bending while lifting, climbing ladders and stairs while wearing protective equipment, and working in confined spaces, including repetitive arm motion below, at, and above shoulder level.
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
