**Job Role**:
***We are currently seeking a
**Safety Watch **to join our Regional Teams in
**Edmonton & Cold Lake, AB.**

**Responsibilities**:
This position reports directly to the Cyntech HSEQ Manager and takes day to day direction from the site Supervisor of the project that they have been assigned.
- Ensure all safety equipment on the site have current certificates and are fit for use
- Ensure gas monitors are bump tested daily and maintain records
- Conduct and record daily site inspections and observations
- Report all deficiencies to the site Supervisor and HSEQ Manager
- Assist site supervisor in performing daily toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings.
- Perform inspections on all equipment brought onto site and maintain records, as directed by supervisor
- Perform Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) Verifications on all workers at regular intervals throughout each project.
- Complete Hazard Hunt process with work crew process
- Identify and report all site-specific hazards to site Supervisor. Ensure any hazards are eliminated or mitigated prior to performing related tasks
- Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety
- Follow and be an advocate for all rules, policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, company safety program, and all other applicable legislation
- Assist the site Supervisor with incident/near miss reporting - freezing the scene, gathering witness statements, taking photos of the scene, initiating post-incident A&D protocol, contacting the HSEQ Manager, and completing the initial incident report
- Inspection of all safety related equipment and assist the worker/user in inspection of PPE prior to use
- Perform gas monitoring and ensuring adequate ventilation, as well as mitigating and/or eliminating other potential hazards
- Review rescue plans and evacuation procedures with all workers prior to starting work.
- Ensure that all pertinent safety paperwork is completed accurately, neatly and in a timely manner
- Assist in providing; training, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced co-workers
- Attend bi-weekly call-in conference with HSEQ Manager and Safety Advisors from other projects
- Assist HSEQ Department with development of HSEQ Management System Requirements
- Assist with the implementation of project HSEQ documenting for upcoming projects and/or new scope of works.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may vary by project and Client requirements.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrate a commitment to safety
- Be able to effectively communicate in a group and individual setting
- Have and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation and Code
- Previous Construction or Oil and Gas experience is an asset
- Ability to work at heights or within confined spaces
- Experience working around powered mobile equipment is an asset
- Pre-access Drug & Alcohol test is required
- NCSO Certificate or Health & Safety Diploma is an asset
- Training in the following courses:

- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry/Monitor & Rescue
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C

**Physical Requirements**
- Physical strength and stamina
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to use small power tools

**Own Tools/ Equipment**
- Steel-toed safety boots

**Work Environment**
- The primary work environment is in the energy and petrochemical industry
- Working on above-ground storage tanks and vessels
- Working in restricted and confined spaces
- Working at heights from work platforms
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions includ
