As a **Technical Translator,** you will be a valuable member of the Programs Department that finds, wins and delivers Fleetway’s programs to our valued clients. You will support the team by performing English to French language translation on our technical documents, and ensuring they are ready to be used reliably by our clients.

**Key Responsibilities and Outcomes**:

- Performing print-ready translation of technical documentation from English to French
- Providing bilingual revisions of translations produced by team members, including quality control and assurance for the products we deliver to our clients
- Being responsible for reviewing, proofreading, and providing unilingual revision of a variety of technical documents
- Contributing to the constant expansion of the terminology and phraseology databases used by the technical translation team
- Acting as a liaison with the clients to ensure that the translations they receive meet their requirements
- Monitoring technological developments to encourage innovation and growth
- Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced translators to promote their success and personal growth

**Skill, Capabilities, and Experience**:

- Education required: An undergraduate university degree with a focus in Translation and/or academic certification in Translation from a recognized Canadian educational institution
- Professional registration with OTTIAQ or CTTIC considered an asset
- Experience Required:

- We are looking for **all levels of experience** for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior level opportunities.
- Revising technical texts translated from English into French
- Proofreading and editing in English and French
- Standardizing content, terminology, and graphic presentation
- Superb communication skills both orally and in writing in French and English
- Familiar working with translation tools, including the common computer-assisted translation aids, and be able to make optimal use of them
- Passionate about the potential of artificial intelligence and neural translation
- Understanding of linguistic differences and issues encountered when producing a French-language version of a technical text written in English
- Must be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, with a high attention to detail, well-honed analytics approach, strong organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Sound knowledge of XML language
