Purchasing Lead

West Four Group of Companies Inc. is a growing Western Canadian leader in supplying doors, hardware, and building specialties. Our trade brands are Madero, Penner, Security Building Supplies, Two Six Creative, West Four Distribution, West Four Manufacturing, and WSI Modular with facilities in Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.

Our organization has an opportunity for a Purchasing Lead to join our team in our Purchasing Department. This is a full-time permanent position that will help support each of our divisions and locations within the organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement and will operate out of our manufacturing facility in Saskatoon.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the day-to-day operation of one group within the purchasing team
- Ordering up to date and current
- Pricing/costing is completed on time & accurately
- Purchase Orders are current and followed up
- Maintain system accuracy/clean-up in the VAI S2K Enterprise Software
- Establish and Maintain stocking levels in all locations
- Coach, teach, mentor the purchasing team as well as all staff within the organization on anything related to purchasing, purchase orders, costing, and procedures.
- Active engagement within the team to ensure that each team member is helped and supported as needed
- Participate in day-to-day operations as a purchaser/re-buyer (a portfolio of vendors will be the responsibility of the Purchasing Lead)
- Focus on establishing procedures, structure and continuity within the purchasing team
- Focus on Inventory Management and cost reduction company wide
- Analytics on performance and researching opportunities
- Working on maintaining vendor relationships
- Drive customer service within the team - Focus on the internal customers
- Regular reporting on performance while always searching for new opportunities
- Learn our system and operate as a ‘super user’ to train and find operational advantages
- Support each location through Physical Inventories and reporting needs
- Develop purchasing programs for all internal consumables, equipment, office needs
- Participate in vendor analysis and vendor negotiations as needed

**Qualifications**
- High level of excel knowledge - a key tool for all aspects of this position
- Ability to multi-task, able to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize workload balance
- Experience in coaching a team spread over multiple locations: Daily engagement
- Knowledge and comfort in the construction materials industry
- Strong proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and basic IT experience
- 5 years experience in manufacturing and building material industry in procurement
- 10 years experience in a manager or supervisor role
- Self Learner - identify areas of opportunity and seek out the answers

**Salary**: $68,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- purchasing: 2 years (required)
- Supervising: 10 years (preferred)
