Do you have a strong technical skillset and interested in building innovative solutions to analyze and model power markets? If so, this role is for you Reporting to the Director, Natural Gas and Power Trading, you will provide research and analytics focused on the Canadian and lower 48 United States natural gas markets to our natural gas trading team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three or more years of experience of relevant experience and knowledge in the natural gas market- Coding experience using Python, C#, R or similar programming languages- Bachelors degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field- Prior experience performing market analysis or system and tool design.- Experience analyzing and evaluating large and complex data files
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop of a suite of quantitative and analytical models to facilitate trading decisions.- Maintain, augment, and enhance the natural gas team’s model and tool set on a regular basis.- Work closely with Trading team to translate insight and analysis into actionable trading and asset optimization strategies.- Provide analysis and research to various internal stakeholders as market opportunities and projects develop for the company.- Participate in weekly gas strategy meetings providing assistance in developing trading strategies.
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 - 6th Ave S.W.- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs- Depending on the nature of the role, we have implemented a Hybrid Work Model to provide our employees with a combination of office-based work and ‘work from home’ flexibility.
