We support the development and sustainability of Alberta's creative and cultural industries, artists and arts community, and non-profit / voluntary sector, and increase gender equality by working with all other ministries to make sure gender and other identity factors are reflected in Alberta government policies, programs, and legislation.
The ministry’s Policy, Planning and Legislative Services Branch provides critical support and guidance to other areas of the ministry regarding business planning and reporting, performance measurement, business continuity, drafting legislation, strategic policy development, and intergovernmental relations.
**Role Responsibilities**:
Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase and enhance your writing/editing, coordination, and people skills? Do you have experience in business planning and reporting or enterprise risk management?
Reporting to the Manager of Business and Operational Planning, as the Corporate Planning & Reporting Analyst, you will provide coordination, consultation, quality control, and project management to support the ministry’s strategic, business, and operational planning and reporting, executive performance agreements, and enterprise risk management. Deliverables include ministry business and operational plans, risk reports, executive performance agreements, briefings and binders. You will solicit and coordinate input from throughout the ministry and edit it to make sure it is ready for internal and external publication. This work is required to meet the government's public accountability requirements under the Fiscal Planning and Transparency Act, with guidance and direction from Treasury Board and Finance, Executive Council and the Office of the Auditor General.
To be effective in this role, you need to be a strong communicator (verbally and in writing) and able to build relationships throughout the ministry to influence and support outcomes. Political acumen, agility, and the ability to approach politically sensitive matters in a confidential, proactive, and positive manner are necessary. A working knowledge of the software tools used to carry out job responsibilities (primarily Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Adobe Acrobat), project management skills, and the ability to consistently meet hard deadlines are essential.
