This position is responsible for gathering, collecting, and cleaning the J2 Greenhouse product, including overall plant maintenance and packing. This position aims to meet departmental goals set by the Greenhouse Supervisor and assists in reaching established objectives for quality, productivity and operational efficiencies.
**Duties**:
- Safely operate forklift
- Utilizing a forklift or hand jack pallet mover to move and position goods as directed by the supervisor(s); (20%-40%)
- Support and operate manual table movements as directed by the supervisor (10%)
- Operate motorized equipment to transport carts of product from the Greenhouse to Value Added departments (5%)
- Enter and maintain digital records.
- Operate motorized equipment to transport products to and from cooler storage (5%)
- Enter and maintain digital records.
- Maintain a maximum of 6 in the winter, and three carts in the summer, of gerbera gathering in the Header House at any given time (winter Nov 1 - April 30; Summer May 1 - Oct 31)
- Support the organization and disposal of waste.
- Support a clean working environment.
- Operate floor cleaner when directed.
- Organize all material handling equipment as directed.
- Work as a member of the greenhouse team in product processing.
- Act as a backup operator on the Logiqs robotics system.
- Be available for weekend robotics control rotations.
- Load and unload trailers at the greenhouse dock as required.
**Working Conditions**:
- The physical environment requires work inside in heat and humid conditionIt is required
- Required to use PPE equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
- Work weekend rotational shifts for Jordan 2 Greenhouse Operations.
- Position requires standing, walking, bending and lifting daily.
- Work under high pressure and pay attention to detail and problem-solving daily.
- Multi-tasking and priority management.
- Work as part of a team to meet overall departmental objectives.
**Credentials and Qualifications**:
- Good physical health (ability to lift to 40 lbs).
- Previous experiences with flowers and greenhouses. Not required but considered an asset.
- Able to stand on feet for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, and reach with the body, arms and legs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet departmental/organizational benchmarks and goals.
- Must provide your transportation and be willing/flexible to work up to 6 days a week, including possible Saturdays during peak seasons/holidays.
- Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement-driven changes within the department and organization.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
