**About Us**:
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services is seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join the Minister’s Office team as a Communications Advisor. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to policy initiatives and enhancing the communication strategy for the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in conveying the government of Ontario's public policy initiatives to the public and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Content Creation**: Draft, edit and revise compelling and impactful content for press releases, speeches, op-eds, social media posts and other communication materials to effectively convey the government 's message.
- **Strategic Communication**: Contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies aligned with the Ministry's goals and the government's overall communications strategy.
- **Social Media Management**: Oversee and execute social media strategies, ensuring alignment with the Ministry's objectives. Monitor social media channels and engage with the audience effectively.
- **Correspondence**: Draft and edit correspondence for the Minister, ensuring a consistent and impactful message.
- **Media Relations**: Support the press secretary in maintaining positive relationships with media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and coordinate interviews and press conferences.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other government offices, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure coordinated communication efforts. Staff the Minister at events as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic communications, preferably in a political or government setting.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear and compelling content.
- Knowledge of media relations, crisis communication, and social media management.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
