Full-time Evening Janitorial Supervisor Needed

**Evening Supervisory Position**

**Domus Building Cleaning Ltd. **is looking for a qualified **Supervisor** for an immediate need at a location within **Ottawa West** that requires government clearance.

Domus has been in operation for over 40 years with more than 500 employees in multiple provinces and has relationships with some of the largest real estate and government clients in the country.

**Competitive Wage Rate Starting at $18.00 per Hour**

**MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: MUST **HAVE GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE OF **‘RELIABLE’**, OR ABLE TO OBTAIN THE SECURITY CLEARANCE.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Attends daily debrief with site Manager as required,
- Inspects the worksite daily and on an ongoing basis to ensure the delivery of services is consistent with the work specifications and follow up ensuring discrepancies if any have been rectified,
- Regularly reviews assignments with staff to ensure tasks are performed properly and quality of work is maintained at expected levels,
- Responsible for the safety of all personnel and ensures that equipment is in safe working condition.,
- Ensures all accidents and property damage is reported within deadlines,
- Responsible to provide accurate information before submission to the Resident Manager (leave form, inspection reports, follow up reports, accident on site, timesheet, etc.),
- Administers appropriate verbal corrective disciplinary action when necessary and report it to the Site Manager,
- Identify and resolve problems on site and informs or involves the Resident Manager as necessary,
- Documents all complaints and follows up ensuring resolution,
- Performs other assigned duties as needed or directed by the Resident Manager,
- Set an example for associates to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of their activities and abiding by the Clients & Company’s safety policies and procedures,
- Attend all required health & safety training,
- Reports and corrects any safety concerns and advises employees of potential/unsafe conditions or hazards
- Complies and enforces the H&S regulations, the OHSA and company policies/procedures in a consistent manner,
- Ensure/provide training for the operation of equipment at their location,
- Investigates incidents/injuries/near misses to determine root cause and report/recommend course of action to the Resident Manager implement any corrective actions as directed by the resident Manager - Reports injuries within 24-hours,
- Assists injured workers to the fullest extent to ensures participation in the early and safe return to work process as per our RTW policy,
- Assuring that safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized,
- Performs other assigned duties as needed or directed by the Resident Manager,

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- 5+ years Supervisor experience within the cleaning industry (commercial, industrial, or office)
- Strong working ethics
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and people skills
- Able to read and follow directions from daily correspondence
- Basic computer skills
- Physical Abilities: standing, kneeling, walking up to 8hrs a day
- Capable of lifting up to 40lbs+
- Experience operating cleaning machinery (spray buffer, carpet extractor, auto
- scrubber, walk behind)
- Knowledge of time sheets
- Capable of completing repetitive tasks

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Ability to be flexible
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Additional training will be required
- English mandatory
- French is an asset
