Veterinary Assistant

**River Road Animal Hospital, Wasaga Beach, ON** is looking for a full-time cheerful Vet assistant to join our team to support the DVMs in the Exam Room as our Exam Room Assistant

We are a 4 doctor practice, looking for someone passionate to join our fun team We are a privately-owned practice, newly renovated (with Tiffany Blue coloured walls) that aims to support the community with high-quality veterinary medicine services. The perfect applicant is someone who is approachable, friendly, and easy-going. Our profession can be challenging, so we require someone who is able to handle the different aspects of our field. Being a team player and being able to work independently are equally important.

**The job duties will be, but are not limited to**:

- Using Avimark (practice management software) to review appointments, take a brief history, support DVMs with their medical records, putting treatments in, invoicing clients
- Providing top-notch customer service by being the concierge for your paired DVM's clients/patients
- A task-doer, who likes to multi-task and help people and their pets
- Supporting your paired DVM's tasks for the day
- Time Management to keep your appointments on time
- Get a weight and TPR on most patients.
- Ability to have discussions with clients about nutrition, preventative medicine, parasiticides and have basic medical terminology.

**Skills required**:

- Previous experience with veterinary receptionist and assistant duties (is an asset)
- A passion to deliver high quality customer service
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to pick up 50lbs
- Able to work full time - up to 40 hours/week
