IT Network Administrator
We are seeking a proactive and technically adept IT Network Administrator to support and optimize our IT infrastructure within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role involves hands-on management of network systems, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity protocols to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance operations.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Support disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures for compliance and operational continuity.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and monitor network and security access controls, including zero trust networking principles.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external security policies and procedures.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with IT teams and end users to identify and resolve network-related issues, collaborating with the service desk team and participating in on-call rotations and off-hours work.
- Train and support staff on network tools and best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network upgrades or troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow change management procedures.
Strategic & Developmental Tasks
- Stay current with emerging technologies, threats, and tools.
- Participate in network automation and monitoring initiatives, including tools like Ansible, Netbox, and Auvik.
- Contribute to network design and implementation projects, including segmentation, micro-segmentation, and cabinet security.
Qualifications & Technical Expertise
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT network administration or IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Sophos, Cisco, Fortinet).
- Experience with enterprise networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VPN, SD-WAN).
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V).
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages are an asset.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Security+, CISSP) are an asset.
