Bureau Veritas is looking for a Microbiologist to join our environmental laboratory in Montreal, QC.

Your main responsibilities are:

- Perform complex sample preparation and analysis;
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
- Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
- Approve data generated (validation level 1) for which analysts have been trained and validated;
- If required, validate Level II data;
- Generate reports with results and fax them to the clients;
- Understand and diagnose analyses;
- Contribute to corrective action procedures;
- Ensure deadlines are met;
- Recommend SOP revisions;
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained;
- Use summaries to plan and organize work;
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations;
- Contribute to daily and weekly planning;
- Provide support for performance supervision;
- Coordinate laboratory projects;
- Validate and implement new methods;
- Write SOPs;
- Follow up on contamination and interference in the laboratory;
- Question results;
- Other related tasks.
- Have a BAC in microbiology or related diploma;
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an environmental laboratory;
- Strong knowledge in microbiology;
- Are able to work independently or as part of a team;
- Are attentive to detail.
