The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores. The LDB is committed to government’s goals of making life better for people in B.C., improving services, and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. As part of the Chief Administrative Office (CAO), the Corporate Services (CS) team plays a critical role in supporting the entire organization. Comprised of Policy, Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations, Corporate Privacy and Information, Sourcing and Vendor Performance, Strategy & Business Transformation, Social Impact & Environmental Sustainability and the Enterprise Project Management Office, CS is driven by customer-service and taking action to advise, consult and support each business area throughout the LDB. The CS team is comprised of approximately 70 staff. What brings CS together as a team is the ability to work together to support both the operational areas of the business and other corporate service areas (e.g., Corporate Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology). The group has a strategic lens with a focus on ensuring the organization aligns and complies with corporate priorities, policies, legislation, best practices, and government mandate. **About this role**: Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Director, Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations supports LDB to achieve its mandate and live its corporate values by providing strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders. The position is LDB’s primary media contact and spokesperson responsible for public relations, strategic communications planning, corporate brand development, and issues management. The Director leads the development and management of strategic, high impact stakeholder relationships, including the management of industry, Indigenous and public consultation projects and initiatives. As part of the Corporate Services division leadership team, the Director is pivotal in convening new conversations and implementing communication strategies and messaging that unifies LDB’s voice to our internal and external audiences and enhances the LDB’s ability to support the complex and emerging needs of the business. The Director is a hands-on strategist with strong corporate issues and reputation management experience with the ability to provide senior counsel to LDB and Ministry executive. This position leads the research, analysis, advice and recommendations on communicating key issues affecting the LDB’s mandate and its relationship with external stakeholders as well as identifying opportunities to promote the LDB brand. The position is responsible for dissemination of information, overseeing corporate communications and stakeholder relationships and coordinating new initiatives. The Director offers strategic counsel and insights across the organization, and advises LDB leaders, including the GM & CEO, and Ministry leaders on communication and issues management strategy, aligned to LDB strategic outcomes. Special requirements and working conditions include being willing to work outside office hours when needed, and travel, and absence from home overnight, may be required on occasion.
