**About Us**:
At African Foodways Market, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality grocery products to our customers. We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Packagers to join our team and ensure that all products are prepared, packaged, and labeled accurately, hygienically, and according to our quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Product Packaging and Labeling
- Accurately package grocery items according to work orders and departmental specifications (produce, meat, bakery, deli, or dry goods).
- Ensure each package is correctly labeled with product name, weight, date, and pricing as required.
- Use appropriate packaging materials to maintain product freshness, hygiene, and presentation quality.

2. Food Safety and Sanitation
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper use of gloves, clean equipment, and sanitized surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized packaging area at all times.
- Adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices to ensure product rotation and minimize waste.

3. Daily Work Orders and Priorities
- Begin each shift by reviewing and completing assigned work orders provided by the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Prioritize high-need items as identified by grocery departments (e.g., fast-moving goods).
- Notify the supervisor immediately if an item is unavailable or packaging materials are low.

4. Equipment Use and Maintenance
- Operate scales, sealing machines, label printers, and other packaging equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.

5. Teamwork and Communication
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel and grocery department staff to ensure timely delivery of packaged items.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with team members at all times.

6. Compliance and Reporting
- Follow all company policies regarding workplace safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Report food safety concerns, damaged goods, or supply issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in food packaging, grocery, or warehouse environments is an asset.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Food handler certificate preferred.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Comfortable handling food products in a refrigerated environment.
