Shipping and Receiving Associate

Overview:
Royal Furniture LTD is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team. This role involves handling the shipping and receiving of furniture and raw materials, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a smooth flow of goods to support production and customer delivery.

**Responsibilities**:

- Safely load and unload furniture, raw materials, and other items from trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Take inventory of finished goods, raw materials, and supplies, conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Inspect shipments for accuracy, damages, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading and packing slips.
- Organize and store received goods in designated areas.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled and tracked.
- Report any damaged or defective items promptly.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, organized, and safe.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external shipping partners.
- Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and resolve any shipping or receiving issues.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Prior experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and materials safely (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
- Meticulous attention to detail in checking inventory, shipments, and documentation.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards, including proper lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software is an asset.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
