**MACHINIST (CNC)**

We are currently seeking a highly self-motivated, and detail-focused manual machinist who enjoys working with their hands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a part of the machine shop team, you will work within our skilled manufacturing group to build Geotechnical Instrumentation using various machines. Apprentices will be considered.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform various tasks using manual vertical milling machines, manual lathes, manual surface grinder, lathes, and CNC machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, tables, and follow OEM procedures.
- Follow work order instructions to customer requirements.
- Validate quality of products.
- Perform general preventative equipment maintenance and ensure mínimal downtime.
- Maintain a clean, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to solve technical issues and maintain an efficient production schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- 2-4 years of Machinist experience preferred.
- Completion of related CNC Machinist training preferred.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances (+/-0.001”).
- Ability to plan ahead.
- Capacity to problem solve and communicate unforeseen circumstances.
- You must possess a high attention to detail, be honest, reliable, and have an excellent work ethic accompanying a strong sense of teamwork.
- Capability to operate drill presses, bench grinders, tool grinders, pneumatic and hand tools.
- Must have manual surface grinding experience or have a willingness to learn.
- Must be familiar with setting up and mounting irregular parts in custom fixtures to perform machining functions.
- Willingness to learn procedures, processes, and adapt to change are essential to the culture of the shop and, if demonstrated, will open doors for additional training and other future possibilities.
