**What will we expect from a Junior Estimator?**
- Prepare and Facilitate estimating, risk analysis, bids, proposals for projects.
- Working with the project management team and operations to develop estimates, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Obtain and review quotations from various manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure scope gaps are covered by trades or in-house labor
- Coordinate with clients to identify and define the scope of project, requirements, objectives, and schedule to provide an accurate estimate for the work.
- Lead weekly estimating review meetings to go over all upcoming projects that require estimates with the General Manager, Project Managers, and site supervisor.
- In conjunction with the Project manager, maintain the estimating tracking sheet (bid log) which is to be reviewed and presented to management weekly during the estimating review meeting.
- Prepare jobs for hand-off to the operations team. Including: setting up the Job summary form, accounting summary, estimate breakouts, producing budgets, securing vendors etc
- Work in conjunction with various departments internally (accounting, operations, project management, safety, etc.) to ensure the successful procurement and execution of each contract.
- Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, addendums in preparation for pricing.
- Participate and document initial site visits alongside the sales team.
- Create markups to help communicate various scopes of work with the production team and sub-trades.
- Obtain input from the operations staff as appropriate.
- Compute costs by analyzing labor, equipment, materials, rentals, and subcontractors making use of various software.
- Ensure submission of proposals or bid delivery to the customer.
- Enter the results and track the status of all proposals and bids in the project management system.
- Maintain an estimating database of history and costs.
- Create and issue purchase orders to sub-trades.
- Assist project management and production teams as necessary.
- Document control
- Material procurement
- Tool procurement

**Qualifications**
- Bachelors degree, technical diploma or equivalent field experience, designation as a P.Eng or C.E.T would be considered an asset
- Construction experience and specifically experience in residential construction would be an asset.
- Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PDF.
- Must be able to work accurately and effectively under pressure with hard dates.
- Strong attention to detail with practical and logical thinking
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprint drawings.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
