Activity Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead recreational programs and services, which promote a healthy and active living environment for residents.
- Welcome new residents and encourage participation in our recreation program.
- Design and implement new recreational programming opportunities for all residents, this includes developing options for individual, small, and large group activities.
- Prepare monthly recreation calendar, posters, flyers, and resident monthly newsletter.
- Develop, plan, and execute special events for residents and guests.
- Coordinate community services such as i.e., church, and spiritual programming
- Provide supervision to recreation team members and volunteers, including hiring, orientation, on-going training, etc.
- Ensure that recreation programs correspond to the needs and desires of residents.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to deliver a high-quality recreation program, including special events and resident outings.
- Participate in manager on duty rotation, including occasional weekends and holidays.
- Perform duties as outlined and any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a retirement residence setting.
- Previous experience working in the field of recreation and leisure programming.
- Demonstrated creative attributes.
- Empathy for and understanding towards the needs of our senior residents.
- Cooperative team leader who is accountable and self-directed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate to our senior residents, their families, colleagues, and guests in a friendly and respectful manner.
- The ability to focus on multiple tasks with ease while maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor to residents and guests.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to manage workflow.
- Taking initiative while always exercising good judgment.
- Ability to supervise and motivate others (staff, students, volunteers, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Education
- Diploma in recreation/leisure studies from a recognized College or University.

**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year
