As an **Assistant Manager** at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company in New Glasgow, PEI, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences in our iconic, full-service restaurant. With over 35 years of excellence, we pride ourselves on fresh ingredients, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage table bookings, greet guests, and guide them to their tables.
- Oversee group bookings, including international guests, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service.
- Supervise operations at our Garden Cafe Grab and Go, maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Prepare staff work schedules, ensuring efficiency and effective control of labor costs.
- Inform guests of unavailable items and stay updated on menu changes.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on daily bookings and special requests.
- Handle payments, issue receipts, and manage cash floats.
- Assist servers, bartenders, and bussers as needed.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks and ensure a tidy dining area.
- Support the Restaurant Manager and oversee team operations as required.
- Promote our mission to create a sensory dining experience that celebrates life.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in food service and restaurant management
- Strong supervisory and team management skills
- Proficiency in using POS systems
- Excellent customer service and food handling abilities
- Experience in training staff
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Relevant experience in bartending, hotel, or barista roles is a plus
- Previous experience as a server, bartender, or host is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Frequent walking and standing.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally.
